Heat two of this year's Poetry Idol and the first one of the competition "on the road" as it were. There will be lots of new venues to visit this year and hopefully they will all bring something different to the competition.

The competition was interesting this heat with some of the returning poets from previous heats and also a few new faces as expected with a new venue.

I don't have any influence over the voting, but I am glad one of the poets won the judge's prize as I liked her also. I almost expected her to get up wearing a Maton guitar and start singing as she could be the lead singer of a band with her confidence.

Thanks to Ezra Bix for his readings before and after the contest as it was a nice bookend for the competition.

I thought the heat went very well and was over by 8.30pm and I wandered off in the drizzle to get dinner. Next month will be down in Mornington on a Saturday morning, so it should be interesting.
