Ian Bland "Drifter" CD launch

with Dan Warner and the Lamington Drive Orchestra
Emerald Lounge at the Clifton Hill Hotel, Saturday 3rd May 2008

This gig was originally going to be on a couple of weeks ago, but was moved so it didn't clash with a couple of bigger gigs at the time. It is like that for me every weekend, in the future I might just start picking the gig out of a hat so I don't get accused of favouritism.

It didn't turn out to bad a place to get to as I could get a bus straight from the Pint and walk down the road a bit. Arriving at the door to find a drunk from the font bar being turned away I said hello to Ally and went inside to get a good spot.

Dan Warner was on first, which was great as I wasn't going to be able to see his going away gig the next day. I will look forward to his new CD when he gets back from the USA.

Helping Ian for this show as the Lamington Drive Orchestra composed of the various people who helped him out on the album. They managed to get through the entire album, plus one track that didn't make it. I thought it was a great show and there were so many people on stage at one point they had to sing from behind the speaker stacks.

After the show I took a photo of Melbourne Mick with Ian and then spent an hour crossing town to arrive at the Pint on Punt, only to find Melbourne Mick at the bar!
