Miss Remarkable & Her Career (2010)

Director: Joanna Rubin Dranger

This story follows a young woman who tries her best to be extraordinary, but is weighed down by her own fears and big black monster of depression. Her attempts to be rid of it and her own actions make up the main part of the story.

Animated in stark black and white, the drawing style reminded me of a Michael Leunig cartoon and the characters were very well realised. Due to the amount of work involved, most animations are not usually this long, but this helped develop the characters and tell more of the story.

It was all wrapped up well in the end of the story, but I would enjoy seeing more of this character and also the work of this animator.
