The pig is the terminal corpse time - MIFF 2009 Blog

The End - 9/08/09

Ong Bak 2

Big Saturday - 8/08/09

The Sky Crawlers
The Chaser

Second friday - 7/08/09

Just the one screening of Going Down to prepare for a big weekend.

Late night screening - 1/08/09

I changed my mind at the last minute and went to see Dead Snow instead of the Burrowers.

Quiet Friday night - 31/07/09

I had to take photos at poetry idol the next day so no late-night screenings or events, just the Topp Twins: Untouchable Girls then home.

Post Punk Mixtape #1 - 29/07/09

The first Post Punk Mixtape screening was sold out and all the directors got up at the start to do an introduction for their shorts. I didn't end up going to the gig at Ding Dong Afterwards.

No One Knows About Persian Cats
Post-Punk Mixtape #1
The Burrowers
Going Down
The Sky Crawlers
The Chaser
Ong Bak 2: The Begining

It was particularly hard on the 26th July, there were five films on at the same time that I wanted to see.

I enjoy watching shorts so I had to have a couple of sessions of just them.

The limitations I set myself actually made it easier to choose films as happened during my last festival.

Saturday 8th of August will be interesting as I have three back-to-back sessions, something that I have not attempted since 2002.

First Entry - 14/7/2009

I was busy last year and only made it to a couple of films that I didn't think were worth reviewing for the web.

I did miss going to the festival last year and will try to buy a mini pass as it is only two weeks out of the year and surely I can go do other things later.

Some films that look interesting going through the MIFF program for the first time:
Van Diemen's Land
Prime Mover
Brand Nue Dae
An Englishman in New York
Looking for Eric
The Hurt Locker
No One Knows About Persian Cats
Tears for Sale
Treeless Mountain
