The Desert (2006)Director: Glendyn Ivin
Tagline: Digging in the desert
A woman stops her can in the middle of a desert saltbush plain and starts digging with a shovel she mysteriously finds. What she finds there is strange to say the least.
The director introduced the film saying it was a small film with a big message and I am inclined to agree with him.
It was strange seeing this short on the big screen as it is one of the few occasions it would have been better to see it on TV or a smaller medium so you can think about it yourself.
However, it was great to see the Australian outback on such a large scale and in the grand surroundings of the Regent Theatre. Someone who shall remain nameless said "not enough hot lesbo action!", but that would be a different film he was thinking about.
